Well, the long awaited, much anticipated answers to the trickiness i have started.  Here are detailed explanations of some of them, because they're so damn tricky.

  1. In fact one of my dream jobs is to start my own record label, in conjunction with a studio, so i might produce and promote the music and artists that i love.
  2. Yes, as geeky as it is, i do name things after recording equipment.  I had a fish i named Neumann after a certain expensive maker of microphones.
  3. LIE NUMBER 1:  I don't really like sugary things.  My limit is somewhere around ice cream and soda.  I don't care for frosting on cake much at all.  Just TOO sweet.
  4. Some of you probably have my CD, The New Message, which reached wide critical acclaim among the 25 or so copies I've distributed.
  5. LIE NUMBER 2:  Damn you Eric Clapton, why did you have to write and perform Tears in Heaven?  The sure fire way to make me at least FEEL like crying in 10 seconds.  Usually i've shed a couple tears by the end.
  6. LIE NUMBER 3:  Nope.  Don't know it.  Though i could probably look it up online and learn how in about 30 seconds, i just never have.
  7. I have infact played in 2 rock bands:  Black Fire, which performed a grand total of 1 blowout hit to an audience of roughly 75, and Amphora, which i was kicked out of because i had a bad week.  Go figure.
  8. I do try and fulfill requests...just usually people are requesting things that i don't have, or can't get into the closet to get them, or they're so outside my format that i just have to deny them.
  9. LIE NUMBER 4:  Ha ha...while the Inland Knights have been known to cause many a booty-shakin' for this DJ, and i happen to own ~15 of their titles, I WILL NEVER CLAIM TO EVER HAVE AN ALLTIME FAVORITE MUSIC GROUP.  This is because it would change on a monthly, if not weekly basis.  Sorry.
  10. Yes, i grew up in MD.  Yes, MD is infact part of the South.  The Mason Dixon line is the northern border of MD, making it, technically, part of the south.  Not to mention Maryland's historical links to the South in the pre-civl war era, what with being a former slave state, and almost secceeding from the union.  So yes.  I did grow up in the south.

Ok..enough trickiness from me.

Write down ten statements about yourself
Four must be lies.  People try and guess which ones are lies.

  1. My dream job is to run a record label.
  2. I like to name things after recording equipment.
  3. I love sugary things.
  4. I have recorded, produced, and distributed a CD
  5. I have never cried over a song.
  6. I know how to make an ethernet cable.
  7. I have played in a rock band.
  8.  I honestly try my best to fulfill requests on my radio show.
  9.  My all time favorite musical group is the Inland Knights.
  10. I have lived in the South my entire life.
Whee...good luck.  I'll post the right answers later.

Yes, it is true.  The Lawnchair Generals are brilliant. So true it is!!  Proof:

  • THEY ARE BRILLIANT
  • Almost any song produced by the Lawnchair Generals can make me shake my ass.
  • Almost any song produced by the Lawnchair Generals can make ALMOST ANYBODY shake their ass.
  • At Audity Central, 2 DJs played 3 or 4 of their songs.  One or two songs were played TWICE.  Did i mention that the crowd WENT CRAZY every time?
  • I recently purcased THOSE SAME SONGS
  • THOSE SONGS MAKE ME SHAKE MY ASS
  • DID I MENTION THAT THE LAWNCHAIR GENERALS ARE BRILLIANT

See!?  It's TRUE!  THEY ARE BRILLIANT!

Wow...xBox. What can i say. after calling about every store in a 20 mile radius, and driving out to antioch to no avail, i finally found an xBox to buy at Rhino. So i got the shabang, Halo 2 and Live. It's highly addictive. I played for almost 4 hours straight today. It was fun. And i don't suck as much :) That's about all i have. So if you want me, my tag is thousandx. Whee!

Not a whole lot to talk about really. Mainly i'm just testing out this LJ software, cuz i hate web forms. !

So as a test, i'm gonna explain this interesting dream i had last night. I can't remember exactly how i met her, but i was hanging out with this girl, and things were going pretty well. We were walking around outside, and it just seemed to be a good idea to start making out. This is when i realized that she was about an inch taller than me. This made it...interesting. So then we decided to go somewhere. Where, i'm not sure, but it was decided that I would drive her car. So we're going to wherever it was, and we came across a traffic jam. So instead of waiting in the traffic jam, we got out of the car and walked up to where the trouble was. As it turns out, there happend to be a duck trapped up ahead. The only problem was that it was stuck under a layer of ice on a lake. And this lake happened to be in a tunnel. And then i sorta woke up. I blame this very strange dream on the fact that valentines day is on monday, and the fact that i watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night.

Also yesterday, i made my promo for my radio show! It turned out pretty good for something i did. I convinced Cally to do the voice stuff for me, and it turned out MUCH better than if i had done it myself. She's got a great voice for the radio, especially for my show. So yeah. This time it only took me 2 hours to do. About one hour was spent with Cally, doing the voice recording, which also included a couple bumps, and the second was mostly me editing. There was a little chillin with the shut up and drive crew, which was cool too. All in all, it turned out to be perhaps the best promo i've made in the shortest amount of time. Woo!

Ok...and that's enough blabbering for now. For more details...well...deal with it.

Doh
Doh, i just wrote on the wall. Reminder to self...don't hold a pen while putting a post-it note on the monitor.

Well, classes have started out pretty OK. None of my professors seem TOO bad, but one is very...perky. Like Rachel Ray. Holy crap. I didn't know it took 90 MINUTES to read a freakin' syllabus. Well, it does when you explain every detail 3 different times. Anyhoo...my big issue this semester is going to be books and such. They are going to be EXPENSIVE! For my copyright law class, i've spent $100 already. For my Theatre class, i have a text book and 3 plays to buy. For public speaking, i have a just one text book..what a concept. For Digital electronics i only have one too (there's only 6 people in that class...which is kinda cool). But the whopper is musicianship for recording engineers: 1 cd-rom textbook, 1 text book, and 1 keyboard! Holy crap, that class is going to cost like $200 by itself! I guess i'm getting hit hard this semester for having it easy last semester with only one book to buy. Oh well.

It's late. I'm going to go sleep or something now. G'night.

Well, i've broken down, and i'm installing windows on my main computer.  It's something i've been contemplating doing for a while now, but just havn't sat down to do it.  I will still be using linux, on my other machine, but for everyday stuff, windows has become just a little more convenient.  iPod stuff is much more complicated with linux, and much simpler with windows, and it's easier to manage things like photos in windows too, where the preview system is more integrated and robust.

Oh, that also means i'm back in TN.  I was confused, and thinking that i had classes tomorrow (MLK day), but upon inspection of the calendar, i don't infact.  so that's another day off for me.  I can get some stuff done, like banking, and some office visiting...i hope.

But right now, i'm gonna go back to battling service pack 2.  Anybody with some hints on how to make it let me use the internet, your help would be appreciated.

Well, today was my last day of work for the winter. It was...boring. had a split HBC and grocery shift. never worked HBC before, but it was ok. Just like grocery but with shampoo and deoderant instead of oatmeal and such. And then grocery was boring as usual. I can never find anything to do, especially today, since there was no stock in the back to be spoken of. But i did get to unload a produce trailer. that was oddly fun. I enjoy unloading trailers way too much. It was probably my last day too. I think i'm going to do summer school, so no more giant for me probably. Oh well. tomorrow i start packing and stuff. And then on saturday, i drive like a mo fo. Me and my iPod will have a wonderful bonding experience o.O

Well, see you in the Murf.

So today i wandered my way up to baltimore with matt j to go record hunting. We met with somewhat meager success, as the guy hadn't any new vinyl, what with the holidays and what not. But i did get a Sean Smith & Landshark track off of Classic that's pure hotness, and a bunchlox release that's also pretty hot. And we got some pretty tasty pizza across the street, from the place that's aparantly rated #1 pizza in baltimore. Who knew. It was nice to have a day off anyway, and record hunting with matt made it all the better. Ok...got work in the morning though, so it's sleepy time.

Damn, it was busy today at the land of groceries! The lines were back into the aisles all day pretty much, and i was working produce, doing potatoes and such. That means LOTS of lifting for my scrawny little self. 50lb sack of onions anyone? Oh, you want that over your head? Sure thing! That and 20 cases of bananas, at 40lbs each, that makes 800lbs of bananas lifted not once, but twice! Hooray!

Tomorrow I'm gonna head up to Baltimore with Matt J and get some records. Woo! I need some new vinyl. We're going to Modern Music. It's a pretty spiffy store, down near fells point. Good selection, and the guy who runs it isn't crazy, which is always a plus. Mmm..JT donaldson.

Ok..sleep time for me.

Well, i went to see ye olde doctor today before work. Needed to get some meds for my highly obnoxious skin, and some meds for my highly obnoxious nose. Nose problems he says is a sinus infection, which is why my skin is being more obnoxious than usual. So yes. Now i have some huge pills to swallow for a couple weeks, and some potions to slather on my skin. Maybe i'll feel like a person instead of an aligator some time soon.

Then it was off to work, for all of 5 hours. Had a nice relaxing tuesday in produce, as nobody shops at my store on tuesday until 4:00, and since i was off at 3:00, it was all dandy. And finally, had dinner at Michael's Pub here in Columbubble. Good burger as usual. Remind me not to get the fries again...they are pretty crappy.

I've been loading lots of music onto my iPod, which has been named Dizzy. I've been listening to lots of LTJ Bukem recently. for some reason drum n' bass has been getting my juices flowing. Hopefully there will be some good house records to be had when i get back to school. And i will find a gig! Or die trying. Or something like that. I need to find some new stuff. Branch out some. I seem to be stuck in this joey youngman / inland knights / om records rut. I need some good deep stuff. And some more good full sounding straight up house. Maybe if i'm feeling brave i could get some drum n' bass or something.

I don't know why, but i'm still holding out.  Why?  I just need to let go and live life as it happens, and stop dreaming quite so much.  I think.
